Can you imagine if you were to build a house without a solid foundation? It would crumble.
The exact same thing happens in your business. Having a solid strategy is the foundation and so often this is forgotten. You can get so caught up working in your business that you forget to work on it as well.
We all do from time to time.
As a result, a lot of the time customers don't take the actions you want them to take because of three things:
a) They don't know that you are talking to them.
b) They don't know what action you want them to take.
c) They don't know you well enough to decide whether they trust you with their money.
If you aren't really clear on your business model and strategy then neither will your customers be. It's so important to gain clarity and direction.
Whenever I'm stuck in this situation, there are four simple but essential questions I ask myself:
1. Where am I now?
2. Where do I want to be?
3. How will I get there?
4. How will I know if I get there?
It's so crazy simple but so effective.
If you really think about it, these four questions are the foundation of everything we do on a daily basis personally and professionally. They can guide you in any situation.
