Goal Setting in Notion (+Free Template)

Are you tired of feeling overwhelmed by your business goals? Do you find it hard to stay focused on what matters most? If so, you're not alone. Many service providers struggle with setting and achieving their goals.

The good news is that there's a solution.

By reverse engineering your goals, you can gain clarity and focus on what matters most. This approach helps you know what to work on, what to say no to, and how to avoid getting overwhelmed.

In this video, I share how I use Notion for goal setting and share some tips to help you get started.

Step 1: Define Your Vision Goals

Your vision goals are the big picture. Consider these your life aspirations. Think about where you want to be in 3-5 years. What do you want your business to look like? How big do you want it to be? What impact do you want to make?

Write down your vision goals and keep these top of mind as you move through the process. This is super easy with your annual planning template.

Step 2: Break Down Your Vision Goals into Annual Goals

Now that you have your vision goals in mind, it's time to break them down into annual goals. What milestones do you need to hit each year to make progress toward your vision? What projects do you need to complete? What revenue do you need to generate?

Be S.M.A.R.T. Specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound.

Step 3: Set Quarterly Targets

With your annual goals in mind, it's time to set quarterly targets. What specific goals do you need to achieve in the next 90 days to make progress toward your annual goals? What projects do you need to focus on? What metrics do you need to track?

By setting quarterly targets, you break down your goals into manageable chunks. You can focus on what's most important for the next 90 days and avoid getting overwhelmed by trying to tackle everything at once.

Step 4: Review and Adjust

Finally, it's important to regularly review your progress and adjust your targets as needed. Are you on track to achieve your quarterly targets? Do you need to adjust your approach? Are there new opportunities or challenges that require a shift in focus?

By regularly reviewing and adjusting your targets, you can stay on track and make progress toward your vision goals.

Reverse engineering your vision goals to annual goals and quarterly targets is a powerful approach to achieving focus and success in your business.

It helps you know what to work on, what to say no to, and how to avoid getting overwhelmed. Give it a try and see how you get on.
